As part of the ‘Fast Track Cities’ partnership, NHS Tayside, Perth & Kinross Council and Dundee City Council have developed a new project ‘I Pledge To…’ which asks people to ‘Pledge’ to:

  • Wise up- learn the facts of HIV
  • Speak up- when they see or hear HIV stigma
  • Reach out- around HIV stigma

The project team will visit workplaces and engage staff members in friendly, meaningful conversations about HIV, dispelling myths and sharing facts about HIV and how treatment has changed.

We don’t ask anyone to sign up to anything, just ask that you make a real effort to think about how we can all play our part to reduce HIV stigma.

We all have a part to play.

Modern HIV treatment means people living with HIV can live as long and as well as anyone else

Effective treatment means HIV can’t be passed on

Stigma is more harmful than HIV

If you’d like to be involved or find out more, email us on tay.bbvmcn@nhs.scot

We have also launched our HIV Stigma Survey to gain insight into HIV stigma within the workplace

To mark Zero HIV Stigma Day on 21st July 2024, we are asking you to spare a few minutes to complete this survey and encourage your colleagues to do the same.  This will help us understand stigma around HIV in Tayside and will inform our work to achieve our ambition to have zero HIV related stigma by 2030.

The survey is open from 16th July – 4th August 2024.
Your response is completely anonymous and no identifiable information will be gathered or saved so please answer honestly.
